POSITION: Dentist SCHEDULE: 8 Hours Per Week FACILITY: Western New Mexico Correctional Facility South LOCATION: Grants, NM

Position Summary As the Dentist at our facility, you will serve as the clinical authority on all dental matters, providing high-quality oral health care and overseeing the dental department. In this dual leadership and treatment role, you will:

Provide a full range of general dentistry services-preventive, restorative, surgical, periodontal, endodontic, and prosthodontic-per facility policy

Oversee staff in cleanings, impressions for prosthetics, oral hygiene programs, and accurate recordkeeping

Perform and interpret radiographic examinations

Arrange appropriate referrals for procedures not performed on-site

Set treatment priorities and determine appropriateness of non-routine care

Document all examinations using applicable dental classification systems (e.g., APHA)

Maintain dental office security, including instrument, medication, and needle counts

Submit monthly dental department activity reports

Develop and update departmental policies and procedures

Participate in staff development and ensure compliance with facility standards

You'll do more than treat dental issues.You'll provide care that restores function, prevents disease, and builds trust in the patient-provider relationship.

What You'll Need

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree

Active unrestricted Dental license in state of practice.

Board certified or Board-eligible in Dentistry.

Active DEA license required.

Active CPR certification required.

Minimum one (1) year practicing dentistry; Correctional experience preferred

Strong clinical, diagnostic, and procedural skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-demand environment while delivering compassionate care
