This role involves overseeing and processing workers' compensation claims with a strong focus on New York jurisdictional regulations and procedures. We welcome motivated individuals who embody our core values of empathy, accountability, collaboration, growth, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

Independent Claims Management: Manage a capped caseload of workers' compensation claims from initiation to resolution, adhering to company protocols and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with New York workers' compensation laws, including timely reporting and benefit payments.

Settlement Negotiation: Negotiate settlements within your authority to facilitate efficient resolutions.

Clear Communication: Maintain effective communication with claimants and clients throughout the claims process.

Documentation: Keep accurate and thorough records in the claims management system, capturing all actions and correspondence.

Office Location:

This position offers a hybrid work schedule for candidates within 25 miles of the Syracuse, NY office, allowing you to work from home 3 days a week. Remote work opportunities are also available for those outside of this radius.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of 2 years in workers' compensation claims handling, with a comprehensive understanding of New York jurisdictional regulations.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree or relevant certifications (e.g., WCCP, AIC) are a plus.

Skills: Proficient in claims processes, with strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical abilities, and multitasking capabilities. Familiarity with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency. Actual compensation depends on various factors including skill set and level of experience. For this role, the starting pay range is $85k-$95k.
