Lead Systems Programmer - ADABAS Mainframe

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Systems Programmer with expertise in Software AG ADABAS environments to join our innovative team. In this role, you will take the lead on mainframe database software upgrades, ensure smooth administration and optimization of our database systems, and collaborate with vendor personnel to effectively address database challenges. Your role will involve daily database maintenance, performance optimization, and facilitating client onboarding processes. You will also participate in a scheduled rotation providing 24 7 on-call support, while meticulously documenting your activities in accordance with our change management policy.

We are excited to find a candidate who meets the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Over 10 years of experienced support with Software AG ADABAS/Natural and related products.

Proven expertise in:

- Best practices for software management and thorough documentation

- Configuration and management of Software AG ADABAS and related products such as Natural

- Database administration, including ADABAS, NATURAL Security, and Fast Path

- Performance tuning utilizing ADABAS utilities and troubleshooting production database issues

- Development and implementation of disaster recovery plans along with vendor management

- Installation and upgrading of ADABAS and Natural products.

Exceptional ability to manage multi-database environments and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.

Other Qualifications

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Highly self-motivated with a proven track record of addressing multiple client support needs efficiently.
