Millwrights with project leadership experience may also be considered. It's a stable company that has been in business for over 50 years and has expanded 15 new plants in the past 10 years. This is a hands-on Mechanical Engineer position with occasional design. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity - not a contract role.

Pay Rate: $100000-$115000
Shift: Day Shift
Required: must be able to meet travel expectations of up to 75% domestic (projects tend to be 3-4 days average). Therefore, sponsorship is unavailable for the position and candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Relocation may be considered on a case-by-case basis, with preferential consideration to candidates local to the area. Target locations are either Dallas, TX or Columbus, OH ideally near a large, metropolitan airport.
Must have hands on experience with plant auxiliary equipment, chillers, blenders, cooling towers, vacuum pumps and air compressors.
Responsibilities:
The Plant Engineer is responsible for planning, budgeting and executing a variety of manufacturing equipment projects across domestic and international locations. The Plant Engineer acts as the project manager for the implementation projects ranging from plant expansions, production line installations, plant retrofits and efficiency improvement projects. This role will require proficiency in engineering moderately complex plant layouts, adapting existing equipment designs, and training plant employees. Additionally, organizing and leading small teams is central to this role. Plant Service Group engineers are the liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing. Travel exceeds 50% throughout the US and Canada and may be up to 70%.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide leadership and support for equipment and infrastructure installations
Implement PM Programs
Routinely provide hands-on equipment and process troubleshooting & training
Perform AutoCAD drawings and functions while maintaining mechanical and electrical drawing files Identify root causes of downtime, scrap and rate restrictions and partner with Engineering and Plant resources to resolve the challenges
Support Engineering on R & D of new equipment and processes
Project Budgeting and Equipment Purchases
Job Skills:
This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
Plastic extrusion or injection mold experience preferred
Ability to work within a Team environment
Strong project management skills
Strong verbal and written communications
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude
Proficient in AutoCAD
Work autonomously and with minimal supervision
Educational Requirements:
Prefer minimum 2-yr Associates' Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Plastics Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' Experience in Project Management
Preferred Experience:
At least 3 years in a manufacturing environment - there is a heavy mechanical focus
Physical Requirements:
Work safely in and around plant equipment
Work within the plant climate conditions
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
