Piping Draftsman

Overview Design Department is presently seeking highly-motivated Semi-Skilled Draftsmen with the ability to develop 3D product model and 2D design disclosure / drawing products for propulsion plant and non-propulsion plant fluid systems and ventilation systems.

These products are developed from system diagrams, design sketches, layouts and/or concepts, manufacture, assembly and test data.

There are multiple openings within D452 Piping and Ventilation.

If selected for an interview, you will be required to provide a portfolio demonstrating CAD work Qualifications Required: * High School diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma * 2-6 years of relevant work experience * Completed CAD training through an academic institution or has previous employment experience using CAD * A portfolio demonstrating CAD work, knowledge of Microsoft products, familiarity with basic design practices/rules and CAD tools, ability to perform design related math functions, ability to read and interpret written instructions, the ability to read and interpret drawings (blueprints), and the desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession.

Preferred: * Completion of advanced CAD coursework, industry certification, or continuing education in mechanical/industrial design.

* 2-6 years of hands on experience using advanced CAD platforms such as autocad, CATIA, and NX to produce 3D product models and egineering drawings * Experience working in a manufacturaing or engineering design environment supporting fluid systems, piping layouts and/or ventilation systems * Familiarity with Design Standards, Military Specifications, Manufacturing Processes, Design for Six Sigma, Lean Design/Manufacturing Skills * Proficiency in CAD software * Ability to interpret drawings * Problem solving * Attention to detail * Time management skills
