Job Description
Are you skilled in security systems? We are looking for a Safety & Security Systems Technician. This role would be responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing physical security systems, including door hardware, access control, locks, and security camera systems, while supporting overall safety and security operations. This person ensures a secure environment for all on campus.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Support daily safety and security operations across all facilities
Monitor and respond to security incidents, alarms, and safety concerns
Conduct regular security and safety inspections of buildings, doors, and access points
Assist with emergency response, investigations, and incident reporting
Maintain database hazardous material listings and SDS documentation
Install, repair, and maintain mechanical and electronic door locks, closers, panic hardware, and access control devices
Rekey locks, change cores, and manage key systems as required
Troubleshoot access issues and resolve door hardware malfunctions
Install, configure, and maintain CCTV and IP-bases camera systems
Troubleshoot camera, cabling, NVR/DVR, and network connectivity issues
Maintain inventory of locks, hardware, cameras, part, and tools
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for advanced repairs or system upgrades
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree
At least 3 years of experience
Knowledge of mechanical and electronic locking systems
Experience with access control, key management, and CCTV/IP camera systems
Have strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
