We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical and control systems. This role focuses on equipment reliability, safety, and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, motors, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, and breakers
Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and PLC logic
Diagnose control system issues using multimeters, clamp meters, and other diagnostic tools
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance (infrared inspections, megger testing, motor current analysis)
Support production by maintaining equipment at standard operating conditions
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
Develop and follow preventive maintenance plans for electrical equipment and utilities
Ensure compliance with NFPA, Lockout/Tagout, confined space, and PPE requirements
Maintain accurate CMMS documentation for work orders, inspections, and repairs
Assist with maintaining critical spare parts inventory
Support contractors and coordinate work during shutdowns or downtime
Maintain housekeeping and safe work areas at all times
Requirements:
5+ years of electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
NFPA training, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience with PLC troubleshooting and electrical test equipment
Ability to work rotating shifts
