This person will train alongside them before their retirement. This position is both operationally hands-on and strategically focused.

Role Description

The Purchasing Manager will oversee and manage procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and supplies required for modular home production. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Marshfield, WI, and will require collaboration with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain inventory levels, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure compliance with company standards and policies. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will analyze market trends and develop strategies to optimize purchasing operations. The purchasing assistant reports to this position and works closely with the production manager, sales, and scheduling to ensure materials are available to meet manufacturing schedules.

Qualifications

Experience with procurement, inventory management, and supplier negotiations

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in using procurement and inventory software

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing practices

Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry preferred

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and safety standards

2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred

5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience preferred
