Senior Estimator

Overview

A well-established and growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team in Central Ohio. This individual will play a key role in preconstruction, leading estimating efforts on a wide range of commercial projects and working closely with leadership, operations, and clients to drive successful project outcomes.

This is a high-impact role offering visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to mentor junior team members while contributing to the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead estimating efforts for ground-up and renovation commercial construction projects

Prepare detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates across multiple sectors

Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost projections

Develop and manage subcontractor and vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing

Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids

Collaborate with project management and field teams during preconstruction and project turnover

Participate in value engineering efforts and cost-saving strategies

Present estimates and participate in client meetings and proposal development

Mentor and support junior estimators and preconstruction staff

Qualifications

7-10+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction

Strong background in conceptual estimating

Experience across sectors such as mission critical and commercial construction

Proficiency in Procore, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications

Strong communication and leadership skills

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
