A CSR’s main responsibility is to ensure a positive customer experience by addressing needs efficiently and professionally.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities Answer customer inquiries via phone, email, chat, or in person Resolve complaints and troubleshoot problems Provide accurate information about products, services, and policies Process orders, returns, or account updates Escalate complex issues to higher-level support when needed Maintain records of customer interactions Follow company guidelines and service standards Key Skills Strong communication and active listening Problem-solving and critical thinking Patience and empathy Time management and multitasking Basic computer and data entry skills Qualifications (vary by company) High school diploma or equivalent (some roles require college level) Previous customer service experience (preferred but not always required) Familiarity with customer support software or CRM tools Work Environment Call centers, offices, retail stores, or remote setups May involve shift work, including nights, weekends, or holidays
