Job Description

Essential Sports & Spine Solutions Clinical Operations Partner — Right Hand Role

Columbus, OH Part-Time (with growth potential to Full-Time) $20–25/hr Growth Path to Practice

About Us

Essential Sports & Spine Solutions is a founder-led practice in Columbus specializing in interventional spine, musculoskeletal health, and regenerative medicine — where interventional pain meets sports medicine meets the future of how bodies actually heal.

We are not a corporate clinic. We are not insurance-driven. We don't reduce people to chart codes or run them through a conveyor belt of default protocols.

We exist because the system forgot how to see people — and we decided to build something that remembers.

Our care is personalized, evidence-based, and built on a simple belief: competence is compassion. When you understand the body deeply, you earn the right to be trusted with what people love most — their movement, their sport, their life.

Right now, the team is the founder (an interventional spine and musculoskeletal physician) and you. This is a ground-floor opportunity with a physician who is building something that matters — not a stepping stone, not a safety net, not a place to figure out what you want to do next.

The Role

This is a hybrid position: part clinical, part operational, part growth engine. You'll run the front end of the practice, assist with procedures, manage patient communication, and help build the systems that let us scale without losing our soul.

Over 6–12 months, you'll grow into the operational co-pilot — someone who can represent ESS, train future staff, and make decisions with confidence. Not because I handed you a manual. Because you understood why we do what we do and made it yours.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Arrive 30 minutes before first patient. Open the clinic, prep rooms, review the schedule.

Check patients in, handle intake, collect payments, manage the flow of the day.

Assist with procedures (injections, blood draws, exam setup).

Between patients: follow-up calls, scheduling, supply ordering, light admin.

End of day: close the clinic, ensure charts and follow-ups are complete.

Weekly: support social media content, help plan community outreach, identify systems to improve.

Your Responsibilities — Phased Growth

Weeks 1–4 (Foundation): Learn our systems, patient flow, and how we communicate. Master the front desk. Shadow procedures. Understand the why behind how we operate — because the why is everything here.

Months 2–3 (Ownership): Run the front end independently. Handle intake and discovery calls. Assist with all procedures. Start identifying inefficiencies and fixing them without being asked.

Months 4–12 (Partnership): Communicate on behalf of the practice. Help structure treatment packages. Train new team members. Operate as my true #2 — not someone waiting for instructions, but someone I trust to think, decide, and act.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 1 year in a clinical, healthcare, or patient-facing medical setting preferred.

Medical Assistant certification and/or phlebotomy license strongly preferred.

Exceptional attention to detail. In healthcare, small misses compound. We take this seriously.

Strong communication skills — you'll be the first voice patients hear and the last impression they leave with.

Comfort with autonomy. You'll receive trust and direction, not micromanagement. If that sounds like freedom to you, keep reading. If that sounds stressful, this isn't your role.

A genuine interest in regenerative medicine, musculoskeletal care, or interventional spine.

Compensation & Growth

$20–25/hr depending on experience

Performance-based bonuses starting at 3 months

Compensation increases at 6 and 12 months

Clear growth path into expanded leadership and operational ownership

A work environment that values health, balance, and life outside the clinic

Who Thrives Here

You've worked in healthcare long enough to know most of it is broken. You're tired of assembly-line medicine, of being undervalued, of watching patients get processed instead of treated. You want to be part of something that actually gives a damn — and you want to be trusted, not managed.

You take pride in mastery. You value honesty over politeness. You notice what needs doing and you do it — not because someone built you a checklist, but because you care about the outcome. You don't need credit. You need purpose.

If that's you, we should talk.

Who This Is Not For

If you're looking for a short-term gig, rigid routine, or a place to coast — this isn't it. If you avoid hard conversations, need constant direction, or treat details as optional — this isn't it. We care deeply about the work. We expect you to as well.
