Network / Systems Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Network / Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize their on-premises infrastructure. This onsite role in Columbus is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys supporting a hybrid environment of servers, networking hardware, virtualization, storage, and security systems.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, group policies, and domain services

Manage network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, routers, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless systems

Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to outages or alerts

Maintain backup/restore procedures and ensure business continuity readiness

Oversee patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of hardware and software

Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls across systems and networks

Support end users with advanced technical issues and escalations

Document configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures

Collaborate with leadership and external vendors on projects and enhancements Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role

Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP

Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewall principles)

Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization platforms

Experience managing backup solutions (Veeam, Datto, etc.)

Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security tools

Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work fully onsite

Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+, Security+, MCSA) are a plus What Our Client Offers
