Delta Precision Components LLC. is a manufacturer of complex aerospace components and assemblies with operations in Livonia, Michigan. The company's capabilities include high-speed CNC Lathes, Mills, Gear Grinders, and finishing, among others. The company specializes in small, medium, and large-scale aircraft assemblies of varying complexity for the commercial aerospace and defense industry.
PROGRAM MANAGERS provide day-to-day leadership and function as the liaison between the customer and the Company to ensure that the parts produced meet the customer's delivery and quality goals as well as the Company's cost and profitability goals. They serve in a matrix organization to ensure company commitments are met, drive customer satisfaction through constant interaction with the customer and the entire organization in a positive manner, develop and maintain management tools/metrics to monitor and report progress from contract award to contract closeout.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interface with operations to ensure that quality parts that meet or beat cost and profitability targets are delivered to the customer on time.
Provide "sense of urgency" for the entire Delta Organization as it pertains to the assigned program(s)
Conduct contract review and manage new production introduction processes.
Facilitate positive constructive communication between the customer as well as the company and its departments.
Interface with Business Development and Sales in the managing of new projects from the bid review cycle to contract award
Communicate target pricing to Procurement and monitor that purchase orders issued either meet or beat the target pricing.
Ensure that Procurement is aware of scheduling changes in a timely manner to ensure that material on hand can be used within 2 weeks of receiving shipments.
Collaborate with Outside Services purchasing team to ensure that price and turn times meet or beat established targets.
Interface with Programming to ensure that programs are developed to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Provide target production labor hours to Plant Manager and monitor production to ensure that goals, including machine utilization and efficiency, are met for every part produced.
Monitor metals markets and other cost factors, and alert ELT and/or customers when market pricing changes warrant pricing needs to be adjusted.
Support the development of the working relationship with the customer through a thorough understanding of the customer's business philosophy, product designs, manufacturing process and systems, cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
Review customer change orders and proposed price adjustments and obtain written agreement from the customer and CFO for all pricing changes.
Ensure Customer Commitments are made through diligent follow-up with all functions of the company.
Maintain 98% On Time Delivery as well as a 99.7% quality rating through collaboration with all departments within Delta.
Aid the business unit to constructively resolve problems and communicate positively and respectfully to senior management, teammates and workforce in a proactive fashion.
Support efforts to ensure overall customer satisfaction relative to current project and prospective, follow-on business.
Submit weekly reports to leadership team.
Assist operations and other departments to reduce Work in Process for the program.
Provide Monthly 30 / 60 / 90-day forecast for programs.
Lead and conduct regular program review meetings with the business unit to address program progress in achieving customer requirements in the areas of cost, quality, and delivery.
Participate in the development of the objectives and business plans of the enterprise and share responsibility for the general management of the business to achieve the targets set by the company.
Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through effective communications, in developing an efficient organizational structure that is responsive to program requirements and changes.
Assign effective lines of responsibility and authority including the development of key personnel to maintain performance for subordinates.
Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts.

BS degree in engineering, science, or business.
5+ years applicable industry experience desired
Demonstrated ability to influence across functional lines within the company and within customer organizations.
Able to influentially manage in a matrix organization without direct reports as well as act as a technical collaborator in a positive and supportive fashion
Proficient in EXCEL including Pivot Tables customer Portals and ERP systems is helpful
Ideal candidate comes from "production control environment" and/ or "purchasing"
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR requirement)
