Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Columbus, OH/Wilmington, OH. Candidate must have strong mainframe application development expertise to build, maintain, and optimize COBOLbased systems across critical business processes.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Developer job responsibilities include:
Developing and enhancing mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, SQL, and related tools to support core business operations.
Maintaining system stability by performing updates, monitoring performance, and executing batch and online processing tasks.
Conducting unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting activities to ensure software reliability and accuracy.
Collaborating with business analysts, engineers, and developers to align technical solutions with functional requirements.
Producing clear technical documentation, including specifications, user manuals, and support guides for ongoing operations.
Optimizing application performance by tuning code, refining processes, and improving data handling across CICS, DB2, and other mainframe environments. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
8-10 years working in mainframe application development and system support.
Strong capability to develop, maintain, and optimize COBOLbased applications while ensuring stability across batch and online systems.
Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
