The Junior Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in engaging ILSC young learners in their English language studies, ensuring best practice in L&T methodologies, classroom management, project- based assessment and use of educational technology; being a successful mediator between a descriptive curriculum and student goals and needs; supporting student academic progress and student satisfaction; working collaboratively and constructively within the teaching and broader teams; completing all administrative and reporting tasks as required; and adhering to relevant ILSC Policies and Procedures.
The Junior Program Coordinator also plays a key role in coordinating the operational delivery of the Junior Program and ensuring engaging, age-appropriate English language instruction to young learners aged 12-17. The role works collaboratively and constructively within the teaching team and the wider campus community. Operating within a highly structured and supportive program environment, the position combines best-practice classroom teaching with a strong focus on student wellbeing, cultural learning, and pastoral care.
In addition to their teaching duties, the Junior Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating operational delivery, maintaining and communicating weekly timetables, liaising with internal and external departments such as academic, accommodation, student services and agents, where appropriate, while also providing lessons drawn from the ILSC Junior English Curriculum, supporting student academic progress and engagement, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning experience.
The Junior Program Coordinator will represent ILSC's core values internally and externally, upholding a collaborative and supportive staffroom ethos, and participating actively in sector Communities of Practice and Special Interest Groups.
The Junior Program Coordinator is supported by the ILSC Head Teachers, reports to the campus Director of Studies (DoS), and is employed in accordance with the National Employment Standards (NES) and the Educational Services (Post Secondary Education) Award 2020.
Job Duties:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Teach a variety of multimodal ELICOS classes (teaching roster and total weekly hours to vary based on operational need; teaching up to 25 hours per week)
Work collaboratively with ILSC Head Teachers and other ILSC Teachers
Prepare and upload clear lesson plans prior to each lesson
Perform periodical analyses of student goals and needs against set learning outcomes
Embrace a principled communicative methodological approach
Engage students in their learning through a student-centred teaching philosophy
Enhance classroom learning and teaching by implementing new resources and technologies
Provide students with regular formative feedback
Be alert to and escalate student welfare concerns as appropriate
Complete all teaching-related admin accurately and within required deadlines
Attend and actively participate in Session Meetings & Professional Development Sessions
Actively contribute to ILSC's positive learning ethos and inclusive, collegiate staffroom culture
Commit to reflective practice (self/peer observations, engaging with ELT literature and trends)
Participate in and represent ILSC in SIGs and CoPs
Other related dutiesor projectsas determined by the campus Director of Studies
Coordinate and supervise the operational delivery of the Junior Program, including orientation, daily schedules, extra-curricular activities, and weekly excursions
Liaise with the campus DoS to maintain and communicate weekly timetables covering Junior English classes, afternoon activities and full day excursions
Liaise with internal departments and external agents (if required) to ensure program alignment and student readiness
Act as the primary point of contact for junior students throughout the program for all academic matters and liaise with the Student Services Manager on pastoral care needs
Ensure student wellbeing, safety, and supervision in line with ILSC Junior Program standards and Australian child safety requirements
Liaise with the DoS on critical incidents, emergencies, and behavioural concerns promptly and professionally
Oversee daily attendance and student check-ins across classes, activities, and excursions
Coordinate closely with the Accommodation team regarding homestay placements, arrivals, departures, and ongoing support
Escalate accommodation-related concerns
Coordinate and supervise onsite and offsite activities, including afternoon activities and weekly full-day excursions
Liaise with transport providers and external vendors to ensure safe and timely operations
Support and coordinate Junior Program teachers and activity supervisors as required
Maintain clear communication with agents, advisors, teachers, activity supervisors where required
Ensure accurate program documentation, including attendance records, incident reports, and student progress reporting
Support end-of-course processes, including certificates, progress reports, and post-program feedback
Other related duties or projects as determined by the campus Director of Studies

Education and Experience Required
Recognised Bachelor'sdegree(or equivalent)
Trinity CertTESOL, Cambridge CELTA, or Cert IVTESOL (or equivalent)
Excellent understanding of TESOL methodology, programs, and assessment practices
Experience working with children or adolescents (12-17) in an educational, summer camp, or study tour environment
Strong understanding of duty of care, student welfare, and youth supervision
Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and respond calmly under pressure
Availability to work flexible hours, including afternoons and weekends during program delivery
