Job Title: Sr. Workday Integration Developer

The Sr. Workday Integration Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Workday integration solutions as part of the Global Payroll Transformation project. This

role will leverage Workday as the source of truth for global payroll inputs and ensure seamless data flow between Workday and external systems across all countries we operate in. The developer will

provide Workday technical expertise regarding system design to ensure a successful implementation, with the goal of building a scalable and well-controlled payroll process in each country.

Responsibilities:

Integrations

Lead end-to-end design, build, test, deploy, and support of Workday integrations using Studio, Orchestrate, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI, and Web Services (SOAP/REST).

Build and maintain complex integrations with external payroll providers (e.g., ADP, Neeyamo) and third-party APIs, including error handling, monitoring, and performance optimization.

Design, develop, and deploy custom applications and automation workflows using Workday Extend, incorporating functional, security, technical, performance, and quality considerations through to deployment.

Leverage Workday Orchestrate to design and implement orchestration flows, automating multi-step business processes and end-to-end integration pipelines.

Create and enhance data transformation logic using XML, JSON, XSLT, and calculated fields.

Write and maintain XSLT and MVEL expressions to manipulate data and automate business logic within Workday Studio integrations.

Monitor all Workday inbound and outbound integrations and resolve integration errors in a timely manner.

Collaborate with the implementation partner's technical team and cross-functional stakeholders.

Configure PECI connectors and transformations with payroll integration vendors like ADP and their various payroll products.

Configurations

Maintain and enhance Workday Payroll configuration, including review, clean-up, and creation of new pay components and calculations.

Determine, document, prioritize, and develop system enhancements.

Identify Security Role assignments for new users and review existing users' Security Role assignments while ensuring proper internal controls.

Review new functionality to determine impact on existing processes.

Provide break/fix solutions, recommend and implement new functionality and process improvements, and ensure smooth integrations with other third-party systems.

Perform analysis of existing business process design and identify and evaluate possible re-configuration/solutions in response to business issues and challenges.

UAT (User Acceptance Testing)

Identify test scenarios, develop test scripts, and assist users participating in user acceptance testing.

Thoroughly test new/modified configuration, business processes, or reports to ensure results meet end-user needs.

Plan and perform regression testing for Workday biannual releases.

Troubleshoot and resolve system issues encountered by users.

Enablement Support

Work closely with the payroll team to ensure they are well prepared for new functionalities/modules go-live.

Assist COEs with system/process questions (Tier 1 support).

Create Workday 'How To' guides and other Knowledge Base resources (Tier 0) as needed.

Develop training content as needed.

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

Partner with COE to document and understand requirements, including business requirements, use cases/user stories, functional requirements, configuration requirements, data and reporting requirements, test case development, and integration requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement payroll-related enhancements.

Create detailed integration specifications, field mappings, designs, and migration documentation to support the integration life cycle.

Document systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the HRLT level.

Risk & Controls

In conjunction with the Payroll and HR Risk & Controls teams, ensure that all payroll administration processes are regularly evaluated to be as streamlined and efficient as possible.

Create a ranked backlog agreed with HRIS leader, COE, and HRLT.

Understand and follow Data Governance and ensure attention to data quality, defined integration/development standards and best practices, security and data privacy standards, and segregation of duties.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 full life cycles of Workday (ERP) implementation experience.

3-5 years of hands-on Workday integration development experience, including Studio, Orchestrate, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Extend.

Hands-on Workday Extend experience developing custom applications and orchestration flows (2+ app use cases preferred).

Workday Orchestrate experience for designing and implementing end-to-end integration pipelines and automating multi-step business processes.

Experience configuring PECI connectors and transformations with payroll integration vendors like ADP and their various payroll products.

Experience with Workday implementation tools: Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, and iLoad.

Experience in Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST, JSON, XML, XSLT).

Proficiency in XSLT and MVEL (MVFLEX Expression Language) for writing custom business logic within Workday Studio integrations.

Experience developing Workday custom reports, Payroll dashboards, calculated fields, and condition rules.

Experience dealing with Workday Payroll administrative functions including tenant, business process, security and access control configurations (including role-based access control and data privacy), data loads, and payroll processes.

Must be certified in Workday HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence Management.

Workday Orchestrate Certification preferred.

Enthusiastic about solving complex, system-to-system integration problems.

Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment and Agile framework.

Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic project environments.
