Position: Structural Engineer ( Hydroelectric Power Facilities and Dams)

Office Location: Sacramento California

Term: Full-Time Hire

National top ranked multidisciplinary Architecture, Engineering, Environmental and Construction Services firm actively seeks Structural Engineer to join our thriving Sacramento, CA office. Candidates local to the Sacramento area are strongly preferred.

The successful Structural Engineer will conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural and civil engineering projects related primarily to hydroelectric power facilities and dams.

Primary Qualifications for our Structural Engineer Role:

Bachelor‘s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is required.

Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is preferred.

Licensed Professional Engineer, PE is strongly preferred.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3+ years of civil-structural engineering work experience.

Candidates with past civil-structural engineering project experience pertaining to hydroelectric power facilities and/or dams will receive priority hiring consideration.

Interest in performing all aspects of civil engineering including technical calculations, performing field inspections, technical writing, and project management is a plus.

Computer knowledge of structural analysis programs (GT STRUDL, ANSYS, RISA,) and Microsoft Office is a plus.

Experience using SAP2000 to perform finite element modeling preferred.

AutoCAD or Microstation experience is a plus.

Self starter with demonstrated ability to perform structural and civil engineering calculations with minimal supervision.

Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard engineering codes, techniques and procedures.

Participate and lead civil structures condition assessments and demonstrated report writing ability.

Analyze available project information, formulate work processes and execute work within schedules and budgets.

Work independently on projects or with teams on larger projects.

Interface with internal and external clients.

A mix of project management as related to technical work assignments, field work and some overnight travel will be required.
