Job Summary:
The Head Tennis Professional provides leadership and oversight for all tennis operations within the racquet club. This role supports strategic planning, program development, daily operations while driving member/guest engagement, building strong relationships, and growing participation through thoughtful and inclusive tennis programming. Working closely with the department's leadership team, the Head Tennis Professional ensures successful programming, efficient operations, and an exceptional experience while fostering a vibrant and welcoming racquets community.

Essential Job Functions:
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
Provide a high-quality service environment to all members and guests.\
Foster and help cultivate a positive, professional team culture.
Assist in developing tennis programs for all ages and skill levels, including clinics, private lessons, junior programs, and camps.
Provide private and group instruction to members and guests.
Organize and manage league teams, round robin, mixers, and special tennis events.
Promote participation in tennis programs and racquet club events.
Partner with other departments to create integrated club events, member experiences, and special programming.
Address member/guest feedback and ensure a high level of service satisfaction.
Assist in recruiting, training, and supervision of teaching professional staff.
Coordinate tennis teaching staff schedules for lessons, clinics, and events.
Assist with day-to-day operations including court scheduling and programming.
Ensure courts, equipment, and facilities are maintained to high standards.
Work with facilities maintenance staff regarding court conditions and facility needs.
Contribute to the planning and development of tennis programming initiatives and the annual calendar of special events.
Support departmental budgeting and program performance tracking.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
RSPA or PTR certification preferred.
Minimum of two years of tennis teaching experience.
Knowledge and certifications in additional racquet sports such as pickleball or padel is beneficial.
Experience working in a club, resort, or racquet facility environment preferred.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, support departments, members, and guests.
Physical Requirements:
Most tasks are performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, including hot, cold, windy, and wet weather.
Temperature can be extreme but is usually moderate.
Frequently works near moving/mechanical parts.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands; bend and stop; remain at post standing for extended periods of time; required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
