Job Description

TITLE

Certified Surgical Technologist - CVOR

SCHEDULE

Shift: Evenings (2x8 & 2x12) - 1430-2300 and 1030-2300

Call required; weekend rotation

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years total CST experience

- 2+ years cardiac & vascular experience

- 1 year CVOR experience

- 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility

- Required certification: BLS

- Familiarity with CVOR procedures (CABG, EVAR/TEVAR, valve procedures, VAD, TAVR)

- Core clinical skills: Scrub & circulate in General OR, Thoracic, Vascular, CVOR; Aseptic technique; Crash cart familiarity; Instrument reprocessing and equipment documentation

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and maintain the sterile field during procedures.

- Assist the surgical team by handing instruments and materials during operations.

- Anticipate the needs of the surgeons and other medical personnel during procedures.

- Ensure that all instruments and supplies are accounted for before and after surgery.

- Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment.

- Document the details of each surgical procedure according to facility protocols.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES

- Orientation: 80 hours

- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

- Urgent Ohio fingerprinting process required immediately after contract; strict compliance deadline: Tuesday prior to start

- Parking permit options available via CampusParc (Wexner Medical Center garage; West Campus permits; CX options) - costs and access vary by permit.
