The objective of the Senior Backup Engineer is to ensure that backups are completed successfully for our business and restores are performed when needed Troubleshooting issues and integrating with storage technologies

Job Description Essential Job Functions

Responsible for endtoend delivery of our backup solution

Work with other Infrastructure Services teams to deliver infrastructure solutions that are technically sound resilient to failure operationally supportable and meets the requirements of the business

Backup Engineer will manage the daily weekly and monthly backup of data on servers across various platforms like Windows Linux UNIX and ESX residing at various data centers across the US Team will be responsible for troubleshooting backup job failures and executing restore jobs as requested

Basic Qualifications

High School diploma with relevant experience 5 years of relevant experience in Backup and Storage technologies and concepts Knowledge on Commvault CIFS NFS shares replication Virtual Tape Library directattached and SAN attached libraries storage tiering

Handson expertise with Commvault Configuring Storage Policies Subclient Policies Schedule Policies Detail oriented approach towards troubleshooting different types of backup and restore jobs

Troubleshooting backups and restores for Windows Linux UNIX servers VMware SQL databases clusters

Understanding of concepts like Deduplication Encryption Compression Replication Global Filters Operations Window

Willing to work an on call rotation
