Machine Operator: Montgomery, Illinois

Our customer in Montgomery, Illinois, is seeking skilled individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Machine Operators to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Machine Operator, you will set up and operate tool room machines, assist tool makers, and manufacture precision parts for molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures.

Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:

Set up and operate tool room machines including tracer lathe and mill.

Perform skilled hand assembly operations to assist mold, die, and tool makers.

Make parts for intricate die, mold, jig, and fixture work including fitting and aligning.

Work from prints, sketches, samples, demonstrations, and instructions to perform operations to specifications.

Disassemble dies and molds; make repairs and replacement parts as needed.

Assemble, fit, align, adjust, and repair multipart dies and molds.

Inspect fit and alignment, report equipment malfunctions, material discrepancies, and unusual conditions.

Complete required paperwork and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

Operate manual machine tools and, under limited supervision, set up and operate CNC machines.

Use precision measuring and gauging equipment, machinists’ hand tools, power-driven tools, and material handling equipment.

May operate a power truck and perform other duties as qualified to meet production needs.

Machine Operator Requirements and Qualifications:

2–3 years of experience with mold, die, and tool operations.

Equivalent to 2–3 years of trades training.

Ability to work from prints, sketches, samples, and instructions.

Strong knowledge of shop mathematics and shop practices.

Familiarity with foundry and machine shop operations.

Ability to use a variety of precision measuring devices.

Continuous mental and visual attention required to set up and operate machine tools and inspect worn or damaged parts.

Pay for Machine Operator: $24.00/hour.

Schedule: Monday – Sunday 6:00am – 2:30pm. Availability to work on 3 out of 4 Saturdays per month.
