Primary Job Function: The Reynoldsburg City Schools' Payroll Manager/Payroll Accountant oversees and supports payroll specialists under the direction of the Assistant Treasurer.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Proficiency in Excel or similar software
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in school accounting
Knowledge of Education Management Information Systems (EMIS)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Primary functions may include the following duties, responsibilities, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. Payroll and Benefits Oversight
Oversee the administration and application of the association agreement terms.
Implement legislative updates and regulations related to payroll and benefits.
Implement Board policy related to payroll and benefits.
Update and maintain electronic forms related to payroll and benefits.
Financial Reconciliation and Processing
Reconcile and pay vendor invoices, including necessary reports with retirement systems for payments.
Process payroll banking transactions and prepare banking reconciliations.
Reconcile substitute billing.
Prepare GAAP workpapers and assist with audits.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare and distribute annual Salary Notifications.
Prepare and distribute 1095 forms.
Provide W-2 processing support.
Communication and Training
Work cooperatively with other offices and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Answer general questions, including those requiring research or technical knowledge.
Provide training to other administrators regarding processes and procedures.
Attend meetings and in-service as required.
General Administration
Utilize effective, active listening.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Federal statutes and regulations, Ohio school law, and State Board of Education rules.
Board of Education policies, procedures, and contractual agreements.
Education Management Information Systems (EMIS).
Skilled in:
Critical thinking, including the interpretation of regulations and mathematical calculations.
Operating computer software and managing multiple projects.
Problem-solving and customer service.
Ability to:
Work independently as a self-starter.
Multitask while remaining detail-oriented.
Demonstrate good moral character and initiative.

Working Conditions - The employee primarily works in a climate-controlled office environment. The role involves high-volume data entry and requires the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet strict payroll deadlines.
