JOB TITLE: Instructional Technology Resource Teacher

LOCATION: Division Wide

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SUMMARY

The Instructional Technology Resource Teacher is to assist teachers with the integration of technology in the classroom, to train teachers to use technology in an effective manner, and to assist with curriculum development as it relates to educational technology. The ITRT is responsible for modeling instructional strategies with students, providing training and professional development, developing the curriculum, or performing similar kinds of duties and responsibilities as the school division may deem appropriate.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Coordinates, organizes and facilitates the effective use of instructional technology in the school setting through teacher training and onsite assistance of technology integration.

Conducts professional development in the areas of technology integration.

Orient new teachers on available technology resources.

Models the integration of technology in all curriculum areas.

Maintains and models best practices for implementation with division and school-specific software programs.

Assists library media specialists in the schools' media center for circulation, catalog, and research

Maintains the instructional technology sections of the BCPS website to keep staff and stakeholders updated.

Assists teachers with the development of curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that utilize technology. Observes and visits classrooms as needed or requested to provide support, guidance, modeling, or resources in instructional technology.

Offers training for software that is installed across the school district.

Coordinates the division Digital Learning Day activities with all schools.

Provides training and support to teachers in using PowerTeacher and Gradebook..

Provides technical assistance during SOL Test administration as needed.

Develops and updates goals for instructional technology by working with school and division administration and division staff to meet needs.

Coordinates purchase of and training of software and software platforms for instructional use.

Attends school, division, regional, and state meetings to obtain information and updates for technology and curriculum resources. (ie: VSTE, GRAETC, and SVRTC).

Provides training of software applications on iPads and Chromebooks.

Works with the Director of Technology to update the Division Technology Plan in regards to technology needs, training, and instructional hardware and software application and integration.

Maintains all technology documents required for students each year (i.e. AUP, Google Agreement, etc.)

Maintains all district software integrations, rostering, and syncs through the division's SSO offerings

Completes all other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Individuals must possess these skills, abilities and knowledge or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Considerable knowledge of computer software and basic knowledge of computer hardware and networking.

Strong understanding of best curriculum practices and the application of

technology in the K-12 environment.

Ability to work well with administrators, teachers/staff, and students at all levels, K- 12.

Provide his/her own transportation to school buildings throughout district

Maintains licensure at the state and/or national level; assumes responsibility for professional growth and keeps materials, supplies, and skills up-to-date

QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS

Education ï Minimum Bachelor's degree. Minimum three years teaching

experience. Training experience preferred.

Licenses ï

Must hold a Virginia Collegiate Professional Teaching License.

Must hold a minimum of a Level 1 Google Certified Educator ( Level 2 preferred)

Minimum three years teaching experience
