Role: Network Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Long Island City, NY
Duration: Long Term
Key Responsibilities:
Installation, Configuration and Management of Cisco WAN/LAN and wireless components (network switches and routers, etc.)
Installation, Configuration and Management of network security appliances, including Checkpoint Firewall, Cisco ASA, Fortinet Fortigate, FireEye IPS/IDS and Citrix Netscaler;
Monitor network and Internet bandwidth performance; perform diagnostics, resolve operational problems or issues, using Cisco Prime and SolarWinds
Network architecture and planning and make recommendations to improve system response time
LAN segmentation and Azure ExpressRoute configuration
Perform capacity planning of servers and network environment.
Effectively and accurately document all changes - Prepare management reports as directed. Mandatory Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience;
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
Must be self-motivated, results-oriented and able to work on a team
Experience with configuring and implementing firewall and intrusion detection technologies;
Experience with configuring and implementing network switches and routers;
Experience with VPN implementation;
An understanding of both network and applications security practices; and appropriate certifications, ex. CCNA, CCNP, CCNE, Cisco Unified Call Manager VOIP, Cisco Unity Connection. For Project Management:
Must have at least 4 years of experience managing infrastructure projects, including new network build out and implementation.
Excellent communication, presentation, articulation skills with strong documentation and organizing skills Desired Qualifications:
PMP Certification or course work in project management (preferred)
Working knowledge of MS project (preferred)
