About the Company
Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is the largest independent Primary Care physician organization in the US. Our established infectious disease specialty practice is seeking a board-certified physician or a recent fellow who will obtain certification within one to two years of hire. The practice has several physicians, an Office Manager, MAs, and an NP in Westerville, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus.

This practice is about 16 miles from downtown Columbus and a 10-20-minute drive from neighboring towns. Columbus can be compared to a metropolitan city hub with over 930,000 residents. Higher education is strong in Columbus, with our university ranked in the top 25. The arts community offers numerous festivals and events, galleries, and cool exhibits. There are over 500 parks in Columbus. Ongoing entertainment venues and many popular sports teams, including well-known football, hockey, and soccer teams, are here. Golf is a favorite pastime in Columbus, featuring several courses in town and dozens in neighboring communities. If you like to shop, Columbus offers endless retail, and there is a great variety of restaurants. It's a foodie town. The business sector is growing with giants like Google, Amazon, and Intel here or moving here. Overall, it is a great place to live, work, and play.
Responsibilities:
Work with the patient’s PCP to manage the patient’s condition.
Conduct patient interviews and evaluations, ordering tests and screenings.
Review test results and recommend an appropriate course of treatment.
Diagnose illnesses.
Review patient medical records, x-rays, and lab reports.
You may order blood tests, urine tests, stool samples, throat swabs, tissue biopsies, and imaging scans.
Communicate the results of tests, condition, and course of therapy and medical procedures. This includes options, the goal, possible side effects, and the length of treatment for the patient.
Recommend lifestyle factors to improve recovery.
Manage the treatment plans for patients with conditions: HIV, leukocytosis, Hepatitis, pneumonia, bone infections, Lyme disease, meningococcal disease, and tuberculosis.
Round at 2 hospital sites and an Inpatient Rehab.
Provide coverage for the wound care clinic at one of the rounding hospital campuses, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Hospital telehealth consults at a new hospital beginning in 2025.
Physicians cover their own calls plus 1 weekend every 5 weeks.
Electronic Health Records (EPIC).
Qualifications
Medical School (four years) (MD/DO).
Residency in internal medicine (three years).
Fellowship in infectious diseases (two years).
Board certification in Internal Medicine: Infectious Disease within two years of joining practice.
Unrestricted Medical License in Ohio.
Complete a wound/HBO course with Healogics.
Pay range, compensation package, and Benefits:
Compensation range starting at $250K up to $300K or more, including compensation from local health systems for consults and rounding. Salary for the first 12 months, Sign-on Bonus, and Retention Bonus after 18 months. After 12 months, you will take a compensation draw every two weeks as a W2 employee. Additional incentive bonuses are earned when quality care measures are reached. You can enroll in a voluntary 401(k) with a 6% employer match and immediate vesting. Profit-sharing plan with employer contribution starts in year two. There is an option to work 4 days a week when you reach shareholder status at 18 months. Full slate of health, disability, and life insurance. Health savings account. Medical Malpractice- Occurrence. 20 Vacation days, 5 days off for CME, and 7 Holidays. Shareholder status at 18 months. Receive Admin Support Services from the corporate office to help run your practice.
