Driller Helper / Laborer – Geotechnical Drilling

Location: Columbus, OH (Regional Travel Required)

Pay: $21/hour + Overtime + Per Diem + Paid Hotels

Full-Time Field-Based

The Job

We are seeking a Driller Helper to work alongside a drilling crew on geotechnical and construction projects across Central Ohio.

This is a hands-on, physical, outdoor job. You’ll be working with heavy equipment, drilling rigs, and tools — not sitting behind a desk.

If you’ve worked in construction, landscaping, concrete, roofing, or any labor-heavy role, you’ll fit well here.

This job involves overnight travel during the week.

What You’ll Be Doing

Assist the Driller with operating drilling rigs and equipment (CME rigs)

Load and unload tools, drill rods, and materials

Help set up and break down job sites

Collect soil and rock samples

Maintain equipment and keep the job site clean and organized

Follow safety procedures and work as part of a crew

Work outdoors in all weather conditions

Schedule & Travel

Monday–Friday schedule (8–10+ hour days, overtime available)

Travel with the crew during the week

Hotel paid by company (Monday–Thursday nights)

Daily per diem provided for meals while traveling

Home most weekends

What We’re Looking For

Reliable and shows up ready to work

Construction, labor, or equipment experience

Comfortable with physical labor (lifting 75 lbs, working on your feet all day)

Willing to work outdoors in heat, cold, mud, and rough conditions

Valid driver’s license

Able to follow direction and work as part of a team

Big Plus (Not Required)

Mechanical skills

OSHA certification

CDL or interest in getting one
