Carpenter - Maintenance

Employment Status: Full-Time, 12-Month
Fork Union Military Academy is seeking a full-time Maintenance Carpenter to support campus buildings and facilities in a private, Christian, all-boys boarding military school in Virginia. This is a year-round position for an experienced carpenter who can handle repairs, installations, and building upkeep across dormitories, classrooms, athletic spaces, staff housing, and other Academy facilities while also assisting with general maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities
Perform carpentry repairs and installations involving doors, frames, windows, trim, cabinetry, hardware, and related items.
Complete minor framing, finish carpentry, patching, and general building repairs.
Support classrooms, dormitories, athletic facilities, staff housing, and other campus buildings.
Assist with general maintenance work orders and seasonal projects as needed.
Maintain safe, organized tools, materials, and work areas.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Journeyman-level carpentry experience required.
Strong knowledge of building repair, finish work, doors, hardware, and general carpentry methods.
Ability to interpret measurements, sketches, and work orders preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
Physical/Work Conditions
Frequent standing, lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and carrying up to 50 pounds. Work may occur indoors and outdoors, including in occupied campus spaces.
