Job Description
The intern will work closely with operations, process engineering, maintenance, and EHS teams
This position will work remotely with the team, with travel to the Cleveland sites expected approximately once per month.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards that monitor operational KPIs such as:
Production rates
Equipment uptime/downtime
Quality performance metrics
Energy and utility consumption
Safety and environmental indicators
Collect and analyze process data from historians and other data systems.
Partner with engineers, supervisors, and operators to understand workflow needs and translate them into effective visualization tools.
Clean, organize, and validate datasets to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
Automate routine reporting processes using tools such as Power BI.
Document dashboard functionality, data definitions, and maintenance steps.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, inefficiencies, or areas for operational optimization.
Assist with ad-hoc data analysis projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field).
Foundational understanding of Chemical manufacturing process operations or industrial systems (coursework acceptable).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel PivotTables).
Basic understanding of databases and data analysis concepts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general data handling.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with programming or scripting.
Familiarity with manufacturing data sources.
Understanding of KPI frameworks, Lean methodologies, or Six Sigma principles.
Previous exposure to chemical or industrial environments.
