POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registration Representative will perform financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient referrals. As a Registration Representative, you will get to interact with patients and their families, clinical teams, schedules and referral sources, and ensure information is readily available for clinical staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates with intake to ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
Performs financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with set ups.
Meets (in person or virtually) with patient or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions
Communicates with intake, clinical staff, and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information.
Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization and ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.
Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
Use of teams and texting functionality
Use of follow up dates, and accountability to ensure all items are met prior to the patients’ scheduled appointments.
Able to problem solve and escalate items as necessary.
Schedule patients for upcoming set ups and mask refits as needed.
Works reports and ques as directed.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide excellent customer service while taking inbound calls and assisting with requests.
Maintains patient confidentiality and rights.
Following all policies and procedures as outlined by the company, governmental.
regulations, and HIPAA standards.
Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.
Uses PTO appropriately.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
Good communication skills, both oral and written, Strong customer service orientation.
Relevant customer service experience
Excellent and demonstrated communication skills.
1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly.
Able to coordinate multiple tasks for multiple customers in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Works well within a team.
MS Office skills
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None assigned.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Standard office setting with minimal noise levels.
