Senior Project Engineer (MSP)

Job Description

The Role

This is a hands-on, execution-focused project role. You will own client projects end to end —onboardings, firewall deployments, cloud migrations, and offboardings — without being micromanaged. MSP experience is required; candidates without it will not be considered.

Work Arrangement:

3 days per week in office

2 days remote

Regular on-site client visits

On-call weekend rotation

What You'll Do

Own and drive multiple concurrent projects independently

Run project kickoff calls with clients and set expectations from day one

Coordinate with our dispatcher and CSM to keep projects on schedule

Track and manage your own project timelines, milestones, and vendor dependencies

Deploy and configure SonicWall and Meraki firewalls and network infrastructure

Lead new client onboardings end to end — scoping, setup, full documentation

Scope out new servers or cloud solutions.

Execute Azure cloud migrations — M365, Entra ID, hybrid environments

Lead hardware replacement projects — servers, networking, endpoints

Deploy and configure Windows Server, Hyper-V, and VMware environments

Maintain thorough documentation in MyGlue throughout every project

Log all work in Autotask PSA accurately and on time

Communicate project status directly to clients without being prompted

Requirements

4+ years of hands-on MSP experience with a strong project delivery track record

Proven experience owning and delivering multiple concurrent projects independently

Hands-on SonicWall and/or Meraki firewall deployment and configuration

Azure cloud migrations — M365, Entra ID, hybrid environments

Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware)

Solid networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs

Microsoft 365 administration

Experience with RMM tools (Datto or similar) and Autotask (PSA)

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client site visits

Available for on-call weekend rotation

Professional communicator — clients will hear from you directly

Nice to Have

CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Azure certifications

Experience with Datto BCDR or similar backup/disaster recovery solutions

Familiarity with CMMC 2.0 or NIST 800-171

Experience with HPE or Dell server hardware

Project Management Certificate
