Hiring: Engineering Manager (PE Licensed)

Location: Ames, IA

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000/yr

Schedule: Full-time

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an Engineering Manager (PE Licensed) to lead mechanical engineering operations, oversee full-cycle design projects, and ensure the accuracy, performance, and continuous improvement of engineering deliverables within an MEP/HVAC-focused environment. This role plays a critical part in managing engineering staff, driving project execution, and maintaining high standards across all technical design and development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all engineering and design activities prepared by staff

Oversee full-cycle design and layout of mechanical engineering projects

Develop in-house detailed engineering designs, as well as conceptual and presentation plans

Apply expertise in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems across projects

Coordinate engineering schedules with project managers and stakeholders

Serve as the primary point of contact for external consultants and vendors

Attend client meetings, design reviews, and pre- and post-construction meetings

Ensure timely and accurate processing of all engineering documentation

Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards and best practices

Mentor, train, and evaluate engineering staff performance

Manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying scope and complexity

Utilize tools such as Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD in project execution

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required

Professional Engineer (PE) license required

7+ years of experience in construction, mechanical, or related engineering fields

5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams

Strong knowledge of MEP, HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems

Experience managing full-cycle engineering design projects

Proficiency in Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD

Valid driving record meeting company requirements
