Role
The Work Preparation Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all pre-production activities are translated into clear, executable and efficient work packages. This role links engineering, planning, and production to enable structured, predictable, and efficient shipbuilding operations.
It actively contributes to the uninterrupted progress of production by preparing work orders, developing executable work packages, planning material requirements, and ensuring their timely availability on site.
Key Responsibilities
Create, maintain and track work orders via SAP or relevant ERP systems
Develop complete work packages (work instructions, routing, BOM, etc.) and ensure readiness for production
Ensure production readiness by validating availability of all required inputs, technical documentation, and execution conditions prior to start
Translate engineering data into clear, executable work instructions and sequences for production
Manage material shortages and alternative material processes in coordination with engineering and procurement
Support production planning by aligning labor, equipment, and execution sequences
Act as a key interface between production, procurement, warehouse, quality, and engineering teams
Collect and evaluate shopfloor feedback and implement necessary revisions to work packages
Report issues encountered in work preparation processes and propose improvements
Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and classification society rules
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Preferably 2–5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or shipbuilding processes
Knowledge of work order and material management (preferably in SAP or similar ERP systems)
Ability to work across multiple disciplines (engineering, production, and supply chain) with a flexible and hands-on mindset
Familiarity with material planning (MRP) and inventory management processes
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills
Good command of English
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
Based in or willing to relocate to Antalya
