Requirements: Seven years of experience managing complex technical projects. Project Management Professional certification required.

The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage the execution of the Modernization Unemployment Insurance (UI) project. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the project including meeting objectives for scope, schedule, budget, and quality. You will lead the OED processes through the phases of detailed requirements, design, testing, training, and go-live. OED will be implementing an existing system from an established vendor, and is currently in the final stages of selecting a vendor. Significant configuration and some customization will likely be required.

As Implementation PM you will serve as primary liaison with vendors in regards to the UI solution implementation. You will also work closely with governance and oversight bodies and ensure oversight requirements are successfully met.

This position calls for a seasoned professional with the experience and skills needed to deliver major technological solutions in a complex setting. This position is responsible for monitoring project team work streams, assigning tasks, monitoring project plans, schedules and status reports, managing project issues and change requests. Project schedules are expected to be detailed and fully loaded with resources and costs.

You will be supported by a number of project management professionals including specialists on scheduling, contracting/vendor management, and quality and risk. You will be part of a team that includes both technical and business teams, each led by experienced managers.

The individual in this position is expected to use facilitation techniques in both small and large group settings to work with ITS and program staff and partners. Appropriate analytical tools and techniques will be used to identify technical and functional requirements, assess current environments, conduct gap analysis, and work with other staff and consultants to define appropriate solutions.

The person in this position will interact extensively with multiple levels and types of staff. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse backgrounds and skill levels are necessary. The individual in this position will be expected to balance multiple competing priorities.
