Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trim Brake Operator Assistant to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will support the operation of press brake machines used for metal fabrication, ensuring precise bending and shaping of materials according to specifications. Responsibilities
Support the loading and unloading of materials using forklifts and other handling equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to determine bending angles and dimensions.
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks, including welding, assembly, and material handling on the production line.Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming or Fanuc controls, and reporting repairs needed.
Follow safety procedures diligently while working with hand tools, fabrication machinery, and materials handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Reads and interprets product work orders.
Provides quality control checks and completes daily quality checklist.
Sets up, operates and maintains the trim brake in order to keep it continuously operational for maximum uptime and minimal scrap created.
Coordinates with co-workers in both the coil area, packaging area, and office staff to ensure that the proper coil is placed on the uncoiler and that finished product is correctly labeled and packaged.
Interacts with electronic machine controller that provides key information to run the trim brake including order information such as quantity, length, color, etc.
Properly completes line coil usage and product manufacturing reports.
Operate a press brake machine to bend and form metal parts according to specifications
Load and unload metal materials onto the press brake machine
Follow work instructions and production drawings to complete parts accurately
Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met
Keep materials staged and ready for production
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Drivers License
Must past a pre employment, and random drug screenings
Must pass a background check
Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience is highly preferred.
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, machining processes, and fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with CNC programming, CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming, or CNC lathe/milling machines is a plus.
Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse handling equipment is desirable; certification is advantageous.
Proficiency with hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Strong attention to detail combined with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Knowledge of safety standards related to stamping presses, press brake machines, and tooling operations.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed
Ability to lift up to 50lbs at a time
Strong attention to detail and quality
Dependable and able to work independently
Comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Effective communication skills in a team environment; willingness to learn new skills related to CNC programming is beneficial.
