JOB DESCRIPTION

SCHEDULING MANAGER

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFE AND COST-EFFICIENT USE OF LABOR, MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT TO MEET CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS, PROVIDE QUALITY PRODUCT, AND ACHIEVE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT LIFECYCLE.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. ONCE PROJECTS ARE TURNED OVER TO OPERATIONS THE SCHEDULING MANAGER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

a. DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN DAILY, WEEKLY AND MONTHLY SCHEDULES FOR LABOR AND EQUIPMENT ALLOCATION AND RESOURCE UTILIZATION.

b. MONITOR SCHEDULE ADHERENCE AND ADJUST ALLOCATIONS AS REQUIRED TO ADDRESS CHANGING PRIORITIES, BALANCE WORKLOAD DISTRIBUTION, AND MAINTAIN OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY ACROSS ALL ACTIVE PROJECTS.

c. MANAGE AND MAINTAIN THE EQUIPMENT FLEET, SMALL TOOLS INVENTORY, AND MECHANIC SHOP OPERATIONS, INCLUDING SCHEDULING PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, COORDINATING REPAIRS, TRACKING EQUIPMENT UTILIZATION, AND ENSURING COMPLIANCE WITH SAFETY STANDARDS.

d. MAINTAINING MATERIAL INVENTORY AND GENERATION OF PURCHASE ORDERS TO MAINTAIN BASELINE INVENTORY LEVELS.

e. COORDINATION AND EXECUTION OF MATERIAL SHIPMENTS TO CUSTOMERS AND FROM VENDORS.

f. OVERSEE NON-PROJECT LABOR ALLOCATION, TRACK EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY DURING YARD-BASED PRE-SHIFT AND POST-SHIFT ACTIVITIES, TRAVEL TIME TO AND FROM PROJECTS, AND IMPLEMENT ASSOCIATED COST CONTROL MEASURES.

g. FACILITATING AND COORDINATING THE COMPLETION OF YARD PROJECTS, WHILE MAINTAINING YARD ORGANIZATION AND CLEANLINESS.

h. ENSURING THE TIMELY AND ACCURATE COMPLETION OF TIMECARDS TO SUPPORT SEAMLESS PAYROLL PROCESSING. PROVIDE RESOLUTION OF ERRORS OR OMISSIONS, AND ENSURE ALL ENTRIES ARE SUBMITTED WITHIN ESTABLISHED TIMELINES. SERVE AS THE PRIMARY POINT OF CONTACT FOR TIMECARD-RELATED INQUIRIES OR ESCLATIONS.

2. PROVIDING SUPPORT TO DIVISIONAL PRESIDENT IN RELATION TO OPERATIONAL CONFLICTS.

3. COORDINATION, DOCUMENTATION, AND EXECUTION OF ACCURATE AND CONCISE INVENTORY COUNTS DURING QUARTERLY AND ANNUAL INVENTORY ASSESSMENTS.

4. RESPONSIBLE FOR FOREMAN EXPENDITURES INCLUDING APPROVAL OF FOREMAN EXPENSE REPORTS.

5. MUST COORDINATE AND PARTICIPATE IN THE EXECUTION OF HOURLY EMPLOYEE EVALUATIONS AND APPRAISALS WITH GUIDANCE FROM COMPLIANCE.

6. MUST PERFORM ALL JOB-RELATED AND ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS IN A TIMELY MANNER.

7. MUST UNDERSTAND ALL APPLICABLE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SPECIFICATIONS COMPLETELY.

8. RESPONSIBLE FOR PAUL PETERSON COMPANY POLICY ENFORCEMENT, INCLUDING ADHERENCE TO ALL COMPANY SAFETY REQUIREMENTS AND REPORT ANY POTENTIAL UNSAFE CONDITIONS TO EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP.

9. MUST MAINTAIN VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND THE ABILITY TO OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE SAFELY.

10. IN ADDITION TO NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS, WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS BASED ON BUSINESS NEED.

11. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY REQUIRED. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MINIMUM COLLEGE DEGREE (4 YEARS) OR COLLEGE DEGREE (2 YEARS) IN CONSTRUCTION FIELD PLUS 5 YEARS MINIMUM FIELD EXPERIENCE.

KNOWLEDGE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF ECONOMICS AND ACCOUNTING; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CONSTRUCTION TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES, SALES AND MARKETING, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND HUMAN RESOURCES.

LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISORY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE CONFLICT RESOLUTION, COACHING, AND DEVELOPMENT OF OTHERS, ENCOURAGING MUTUAL RESPECT, COOPERATION, AND TEAMWORK AMONG SUBORDINATES.

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE ABILITY TO RESPOND TO COMMON INQUIRIES OR COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS, REGULATORY AGENCIES, OR MEMBERS OF THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY. COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILLS WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT OFFICE WITH STRONG FOCUS ON MICROSOFT WORD, MICROSOFT EXCEL, MICROSOFT OUTLOOK, AND WINDOWS EXPLORER (INTERNET), AND INTEGRATED ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE.

REASONING ABILITY TO DEFINE PROBLEMS, COLLECT DATA, ESTABLISH FACTS, AND DRAW VALID CONCLUSIONS. ABILITY TO INTERPRET AN EXTENSIVE VARIETY OF TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS IN MATHEMATICAL OR DIAGRAM FORM AND DEAL WITH SEVERAL ABSTRACT AND CONCRETE VARIABLES. ANALYZE INFORMATION AND USE SOUND LOGIC TO ADDRESS WORK-RELATED ISSUES.

THE NOISE LEVEL IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT IS USUALLY LOUD.
