Hybrid - Coding Services Manager
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Job Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $77,000 – $124,000 Annually (DOE)**
Position Summary:
The Coding Services Manager oversees the daily operations and delivery of physician office and professional fee coding services while ensuring adherence to established coding guidelines. This role is responsible for coordinating accurate and compliant coding of medical information, ensuring proper code assignment, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The manager will support strategic planning for the unit, participate in audit activities, and provide education to the Professional Services coding team based on audit findings.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or related field or equivalent.
Five (5) years of coding/auditing experience in an acute care setting.
Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.
Licensure/Certification (one or more required):
Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Multiple specialty-specific AAPC certifications
Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based (CCS-P)
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Federal, state, and county regulations related to medical coding
ICD 10 CM/PCS, CPT/E&M, and HCPCS coding guidelines
Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing regulations
Revenue cycle workflows (charge master, code edits, denials, documentation improvement)
Data collection, analysis, confidentiality, and patient rights
Budget planning and supervision principles
Electronic health record systems and encoder/CAC systems (e.g., 3M 360)
Skill in:
Managing and developing coding staff
Conflict resolution and performance improvement
Statistical and medical data analysis
Using EHR systems and coding software
Communicating effectively with diverse populations
Establishing strong professional working relationships
Safe and efficient use of office equipment
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to work in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use
Must be able to read printed materials and computer screens
Effective communication in person and by phone
Ability to exert up to 20 lbs occasionally
