Umbilical Search is proud to be partnering with an industry-leading manufacturing company. The business operates a state-of-the-art facility in the Greater Montreal area of Canada, producing advanced technical products for diverse industrial, engineering, and technology markets.
Following significant investment, continued growth and an ambitious transformation programme, the business is seeking an experienced Process Manager to lead manufacturing process engineering activities and continuous improvement initiatives across a critical production site.
This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to influence culture, improve manufacturing performance and build a world-class engineering organisation within a complex, technology-driven environment.
Reporting directly to site leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping future manufacturing capability while driving operational excellence across the facility.
Key accountabilities:
Lead, develop and mentor a team of engineers, technicians and team leaders, driving accountability, engagement and performance
Create and execute a clear process engineering roadmap aligned with operational and business objectives.
Own manufacturing process performance across fabrication, assembly and test operations
Drive improvements in yield, quality, throughput, productivity and overall manufacturing efficiency
Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions to eliminate recurring issues.
Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, waste elimination and process robustness
Support the introduction of new technologies, manufacturing processes and product transfers into production
Analyse manufacturing data, process metrics and performance trends to drive data-based decision making
Partner closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and R&D teams to achieve business objectives
Oversee Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities, ensuring process stability, capability and compliance with operational standards
Lead capacity planning, resource planning and capability improvement activities to support future growth
Drive a culture of proactive problem solving, Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence throughout the engineering organisation
Manage capital investment projects, including business case development, equipment upgrades and manufacturing improvement initiatives
Build a high-performance culture through coaching, succession planning, talent development and organisational change leadership
Requirements:
Role: Process Manager, Process Engineering Manager, Yield Manager, Integration Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager or similar
Education: Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
Industry Background: Semiconductor, Electronics Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defence, Medical Device, Automotive, RF Electronics or other advanced manufacturing environments
Experience: Process engineering, manufacturing operations, yield improvement and continuous improvement within a complex manufacturing environment
Technical Knowledge: SPC, DoE, yield analysis, root cause analysis and data-driven problem solving
Continuous Improvement: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and project management experience preferred
Leadership: Proven experience leading and developing engineering or technical teams
Languages: English required and French
Location: Based in Canada or willing to relocate with support provided
