Metro Chicago Surgical Oncology is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Remote Medical Assistant to join our team. Key Objectives

Provide accurate and timely clinical and administrative support to physicians and nursing staff.

Assist with patient communication, documentation, and coordination of care remotely.

Ensure compliance with medical protocols and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities

Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-ups via phone and electronic communication.

Prepare and update patient medical records, including reviewing charts and entering data into electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Assist providers with clinical documentation, including history taking and recording vital information.

Coordinate referrals and communicate with laboratories, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers as needed.

Respond promptly to patient inquiries and provide clear, compassionate information regarding procedures and care instructions.

Support billing and coding processes by ensuring accurate documentation and assisting with insurance verification.

Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and Metro Chicago Surgical Oncology’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential is a plus.

Minimum of 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in oncology or surgical settings.

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical office software.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong patient-centered approach.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a remote environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
