Title: Senior Software Engineer (Java/AWS/Angular)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications that power critical business functions. This role requires a strong full-stack engineer with deep expertise in Java development, cloud-native architectures on AWS, and modern front-end development using Angular.

The ideal candidate is a highly adaptable engineer who can quickly learn complex business processes, contribute across the full application stack, and thrive in an environment that balances ongoing platform support with new feature development. This position will play a key role in several strategic initiatives while also helping maintain and enhance existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Architecture

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Angular.

Build scalable REST APIs, microservices, and backend services supporting high-volume business applications.

Develop and enhance Angular-based user interfaces and full-stack application features.

Participate in architecture and design discussions, helping define technical solutions for complex business requirements.

Translate functional requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions.

Contribute to modernization efforts and new product initiatives while supporting existing applications.

Cloud & DevOps

Develop and deploy cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services including ECS, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, S3, and related services.

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms.

Support application monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational excellence practices.

Implement infrastructure and deployment automation to improve reliability and efficiency.

Engineering Excellence

Perform code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.

Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Kiro, or similar technologies to improve development productivity.

Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, QA, security, and platform teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Troubleshoot production issues and participate in ongoing application support and maintenance activities.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.

Required Qualifications

7 years of professional software engineering experience.

5 years of hands-on Java development experience.

Strong experience building applications using Spring Boot and modern Java frameworks.

Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS cloud environments.

Experience building front-end applications using Angular.

Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms.

Experience with container technologies including Docker and cloud-based container platforms.

Strong understanding of software design principles, testing methodologies, and secure coding practices.

Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.

Ability to quickly learn new technologies, business processes, and domain concepts.

Experience working in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, or ECS.

Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.

Experience supporting high-volume transactional or customer-facing applications.

Experience with application performance tuning and cloud optimization.

Familiarity with learning management, testing, certification, or educational platforms.

Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools and modern engineering productivity practices.
