The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) is seeking a BIM & Digital Twin Standards Manager to support innovative digital technology initiatives across federal, state, local government, higher education, and private-sector building owner organizations.
This role is ideal for a technical professional with experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Digital Twins, information management, and open data standards who enjoys translating complex technical concepts into practical solutions that improve how facilities are planned, delivered, operated, and maintained.
What You'll Do
Lead technical workstreams related to BIM, Digital Twins, and facility information management.
Develop BIM standards, digital delivery requirements, owner information requirements, and implementation guidance.
Support clients in defining BIM, data exchange, asset information, and lifecycle data requirements.
Review and apply industry standards such as:
ISO 19650
COBie
IFC
buildingSMART openBIM
National BIM Standard
Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and client presentations.
Conduct research and provide recommendations on emerging technologies and best practices.
Support proposal development and contribute to NIBS thought leadership initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Facility Management, Data Science, Information Management, or related field.
4+ years of experience supporting BIM, Digital Twins, facility information management, or digital delivery initiatives.
Strong knowledge of BIM standards, workflows, and data exchange practices.
Experience developing technical standards, requirements, process documentation, and implementation roadmaps.
Familiarity with tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Solibri, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIMcollab, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of data architecture, semantic modeling, knowledge graphs, APIs, and systems integration is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000 annually. The actual salary offered will be dependent upon the applicant's experience and qualifications.

Approximately 5% travel
