Knowledge of: - Principles of anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, nutrition, and first aid. - Prevention, recognition, and treatment of athletic injuries. - Physical fitness, hygiene, and safety procedures related to athletic programs. - Safety and protective athletic equipment. - Taping, bandaging, therapeutic, and rehabilitative techniques. - Disinfection and sanitation procedures. - General principles of training, supervision, and work direction. - Individualized rehabilitation and reconditioning techniques. - First aid and CPR practices. - Oral and written communication skills. - Record-keeping and report preparation methods. Ability to: - Instruct students in proper exercise, rehabilitation, and injury-prevention techniques. - Operate first aid, rehabilitation, and adaptive athletic equipment. - Understand and follow oral and written instructions. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and medical professionals. - Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. - Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
Education and Experience: - Any combination equivalent to a bachelor's degree in athletic training, physical education, or a related field, and at least one year of experience in the care, management, and prevention of athletic injuries. Licenses and Other Requirements: - Valid California Driver's License. - Valid First-Aid/ CPR Certification. - Current National Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC or equivalent).
