Position: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Location: 2814 Kenny Rd Columbus, OH 43210

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Start Date: July 20, 2026

Shift: Night Shift Monday–Friday 7:00 PM – 3:30 AM

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join its Central Sterile Services team. This role is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment across a large academic Level I Trauma Health System. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in all areas of sterile processing and be capable of supporting high-volume surgical services in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience (Hard Stop Requirement).

Current CBSPD Certification or CRCST Certification through HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM).

Experience in a Teaching Hospital environment.

Experience in a Trauma Level II facility or higher.

Comprehensive experience in:

Decontamination

Instrument Assembly

Sterilization (Steam and Sterrad)

HLD and Scope Reprocessing

Sterile Storage

OR Liaison Responsibilities

Censitrac Tracking System

Strong understanding of infection prevention and sterile processing standards.

Certifications Required:

CBSPD Certification OR

CRCST Certification (HSPA/Formerly IAHCSMM)
