Medical Assistant - MA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under the supervision of a licensed Physician, Surgeon, or Podiatrist.

Minimum Qualifications:

- 24 months of recent experience (within the last 3 years) performing similar duties in a public or private institution.

- Current and valid Medical Assistant Certificate approved by the California - Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California.

- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (with AED).

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide basic patient care and assist providers during medical exams and treatments.

- Administer medications, injections, skin tests, and basic breathing treatments safely.

- Collect blood and lab specimens; label and handle appropriately.

- Measure vital signs, conduct basic vision tests, and use medical equipment correctly.

- Remove casts, sutures, dressings, and assist with mobility devices.

- Document patient information, medical history, and test results accurately.

- Practice universal precautions and maintain a safe, clean environment.

- Ensure patient comfort and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

- Assist with scheduling, inventory, and maintaining clinic supplies.

- Observe and report clinical symptoms, behaviour, or potential security concerns.
