Machine Assembler

Job Description

Machine Assembler (with electrical focus) for RWT Corp dba Schaefer Machine and Potdevin Machine.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Machine Assembler aligns, constructs and installs components of machinery, i.e. gears, motors, electrical wiring, by interpreting schematics and blueprints. Must be able to work well within a team-based environment and collaborate with employees from other departments.

Responsibilities:

Decipher schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and assembly instructions.

Assemble sub-assemblies and components according to engineering specifications.

Operate hand and power tools and sometimes machinery such as drills or grinders.

Test finished products for defects and ensuring proper functionality.

Maintain a clean workspace and repair or replace damaged tools.

Follow company procedures and safety rules.

Work independently with minimal supervision/guidance.

Perform other job duties, as required and requested.

Skill Requirements and Qualifications:

Trade School education or job experience in a similar role.

Able to lift 40 lbs – 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.

Safety management mindset.

Mechanical aptitude – understanding machinery and fit-up/assembly repair.

Electro-mechanical experience helpful.

Basic computer skills.

Good communication skills in English both verbal and written.

Forklift operator a plus but not needed. Will train.
