Position Summary
Kinetics Noise Control is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our Application Engineering team. This role plays a critical technical function in developing vibration isolation systems and engineered support solutions for commercial and industrial applications.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for producing submittals and manufacturing drawings for vibration isolation systems, curbs, frames, and bases, as well as performing seismic and wind analysis on structural components and anchorage. This position also includes analytical modeling, finite element analysis (FEA), and direct collaboration with internal teams and customers.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, hands-on design experience, and the ability to independently solve complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities
Design and detail distribution system supports, restraints, anchors, and vibration isolation systems for piping, ductwork, and electrical (MEP) systems
Develop vibration isolation, curb, frame, and base submittals, including manufacturing drawings
Perform seismic and wind load calculations and produce supporting engineering reports
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks Simulation or similar tools
Execute analytical modeling and custom solution development based on project-specific requirements and field conditions
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Field Teams to ensure practical, buildable solutions
Support Revit/BIM coordination for MEP systems and engineered supports
Review project documentation, identify missing inputs, and define engineering scope requirements
Provide technical support for field installations, shop fabrication issues, and customer inquiries
Generate custom product drawings based on project sales requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering tools, internal software, standards, and workflowsEducation & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, structural frames, or product design
Experience with:
Autodesk design tools
SolidWorks Simulation or other FEA platforms
Excel, programming, or engineering automation tools
Demonstrated experience producing engineering calculations and technical reportsTechnical Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
Structural loading (seismic, wind, thermal)
Anchorage design and restraint behavior
Vibration isolation principles and system performance
Working knowledge of:
International Building Code (IBC) and related compliance requirements
Structural systems including steel, concrete, wood framing, and MEP components
Manufacturing processes including welding, sheet metal fabrication, tolerances, and finishes
Hardware selection, specification, and sourcing practicesCore Competencies
Advanced analytical problem-solving and sound mechanical design judgment
Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to deadlines
Effective collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams

Ability to work under pressure and deliver solutions for time-sensitive challenges
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
