Senior SQL Database Administrator - SAP BASIS

Senior SQL Database Administrator Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Full-Time) Visa Status: US Citizen/Green Card Holder No third party agencies or Contractors Whitehall Resources is supporting a leading U.S.-based technology organisation in the search for a Senior SQL Database Administrator to join their enterprise infrastructure team.

This is primarily a SQL Server DBA role, with only light/basic SAP Basis exposure required.

The position will focus heavily on SQL Server administration, performance tuning, clustering, upgrades, patching, and maintaining high availability across critical production systems.

Key Responsibilities:Administer and optimise Microsoft SQL Server environmentsManage SQL clustering and Always On Availability GroupsPerform database patching, upgrades, migrations, backup, and recoveryMonitor performance and troubleshoot database issuesSupport database security, reliability, and complianceWork closely with infrastructure and application teams SAP Basis exposure required includes:Basic SAP system administration supportMonitoring batch jobs and reviewing ABAP dumpsSupporting SAP system health and performance activitiesWorking alongside SAP functional and Basis teams Required Experience:7+ years as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environmentsStrong SQL Server clustering and performance tuning experienceExperience with upgrades, migrations, and disaster recoveryWindows Server and Active Directory exposureBasic SAP Basis knowledge Nice to Have:PowerShell or Azure SQL exposureMonitoring tools such as SCOM, SolarWinds, Redgate, or IderaSAP Security experience This is an excellent opportunity for a strong SQL DBA looking to work within a stable enterprise environment while utilising some SAP exposure alongside core database administration responsibilities.
