An Application Developer with Mainframe Modernization expertise is well-versed in the fundamental concepts and technologies related to both mainframe systems and modernization. They possess the ability to develop codes for both in-place mainframe modernization and migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms, including z-cloud. This skillset encompasses support for mainframe migration to other cloud environments. The developer is proficient in various technologies, such as COBOL systems, Java, JSON, API, Microservices, SaaS, Edge, Off-premises applications, network security, Kubernetes, DevOps, Db2, CICS, WebSphere, and MQ.

Required skills:

This position requires candidate onsite at Columbus, OH Hands-on development experience in COBOL, CICS, and DB2 for both online and batch applications, including analysis, coding, unit testing, and Migration. Strong working knowledge of CICS application programming, including COMMAREA, CICS screens . Experience in developing CICS web services with SOAP/REST Troubleshooting skills for production/ test issues such as CICS abends,DB2 SQL errors, time outs etc.

Nice to have skills:

"Experience creating/exposing APIs using IBM z/OS Connect, including COBOL copybook :left_right_arrow: JSON mapping and service enablement of existing business logic. Familiar with API testing tools such as Postman/Ready API/SoapUI for request/response validation and payload troubleshooting"
