Aggregate Crushing Line Operator

Location: Clayton, Iowa

Wage: $24.00/hour starting wage, increases based on experience

Schedule: Monday- Friday primarily, some weekend work will be required. Day Shift- 6am-6pm

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Position Summary

Pattison Company is seeking an Aggregate Crushing Line Operator to join our team in Clayton, Iowa. This position plays a key role in our production process, ensuring that our rock crushing operation runs efficiently and produces the correct product grades.

Operators will be responsible for heavy equipment operation, general maintenance, and daily inspections of the crushing line. They will work closely with other departments to coordinate repairs, screen changes, and product adjustments to maintain quality, efficiency, and safety.

Primary Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment, including Komatsu 465, 400 haul trucks, 500 Komatsu loaders, 360 and 490 K excavators

Adjust and manage a cone crusher to meet production gradation requirements

Monitor crushing and screening operations to ensure product quality

Perform general maintenance, lubrication, and repairs on equipment

Clean up spilled material around conveyors using a shovel and/or skid steer

Conduct daily inspections, fueling, and routine maintenance of equipment

Operate the crushing plant to maximize production and efficiency

Follow MSHA regulations and company safety procedures

Ensure material meets state, federal, and local specifications Qualifications & Requirements

Ability to work in varying weather conditions on uneven, sandy, and rocky surfaces

Must be able to:

Stand for 6-12 hours and perform physical tasks such as bending and stooping

Work up to 12-hour shifts

Climb on and off equipment and ladders

Work at heights in physically demanding conditions

Wear a half-mask respirator for extended periods

Lift 60 to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance

Use a computer proficiently and enter data accurately

Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and commitment to workplace safety Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Prior heavy equipment operating experience required

Crushing line or mining experience preferred Certifications & Licenses

Aggregate Certified Technician certification required (training sponsored by Pattison Company, includes 1-3 weeks of travel)

MSHA Part 48 certification required (training available on-site)

Valid driver's license required for all Pattison Company employees unless deemed non-essential to the position by HR. Compensation & Benefits
