Position: Assistant Professor – Mathematics / Physics / Electronics

Job Description

1. Teaching & Learning

Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions (for Physics and Electronics), and practical demonstrations to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Develop, update, and implement curriculum in accordance with University regulations, NEP guidelines, and industry requirements.

Employ innovative teaching methodologies, digital learning platforms, and outcome-based education practices.

Prepare lesson plans, course materials, assignments, question papers, and evaluation schemes.

Assess student performance through examinations, projects, presentations, laboratory work, and continuous assessment methods.

Mentor students in academic, research, and career-related activities.

Guide undergraduate and postgraduate projects, internships, and research assignments.

2. Research & Scholarly Activities

Undertake research in the relevant area of specialization and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.

Publish research papers in reputed peer-reviewed national and international journals (preferably Scopus/WoS indexed).

Present research findings at conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposiums.

Apply for research grants and sponsored projects from government agencies, industries, and funding bodies.

Contribute to interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives within and outside the University.

3. Academic Development

Participate in curriculum design, syllabus revision, and academic quality enhancement initiatives.

Attend and contribute to Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), workshops, and training programmes.

Assist in establishing laboratories, research facilities, and academic resources relevant to the discipline.

Contribute to accreditation, ranking, and quality assurance activities.

4. Administrative Responsibilities

Serve on departmental, faculty, and university committees as assigned.

Support academic administration, examination duties, admissions, student counselling, and other institutional activities.

Assist in organizing conferences, seminars, technical events, outreach programmes, and student competitions.

Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and University requirements.

5. Industry Interaction & Outreach

Develop collaborations with industries, research organizations, professional bodies, and academic institutions.

Facilitate internships, industrial visits, guest lectures, and skill-development programmes for students.

Participate in consultancy, extension activities, and community engagement initiatives.

Promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Ph.D. in Mathematics / Physics / Electronics or a relevant specialization from a recognized University.

Master's Degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade as per UGC norms).

NET/SLET/SET qualification, wherever applicable, as per prevailing UGC regulations.

Demonstrated aptitude for teaching, research, and academic development.

Desirable

Research publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals.

Experience in handling modern laboratory equipment and software tools relevant to the discipline.

Knowledge of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), NAAC/NBA accreditation processes, and NEP implementation.

Experience in sponsored research projects, consultancy, patents, or industry collaborations.

Strong communication, mentoring, and organizational skills.
