Job Description
The Lead Carpenter will oversee small teams of 1-3 members specializing in residential construction, renovations, and remodels. This role demands hands-on expertise in various carpentry tasks, including kitchen and bathroom remodeling, basement finishing, and associated trades like electrical and plumbing. The Lead Carpenter maintains client communication on-site and on workdays, ensures project quality, and manages the use of standard carpentry hand and power tools with adherence to safety standards. Local travel to project sites is required.
This position is a 1099 subcontractor position. Paid time off is given yearly with freedom of taking other time off as needed unpaid. Flexible schedule if needed for start and end times within moderation and depending on work load.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate small teams on residential construction and remodeling projects
Manage client communication on-site and during workdays
Perform remodeling tasks: bathroom, kitchen, basement finishing
Conduct demolition, preparation, drywall installation, and finishing
Carry out electrical, plumbing, and tile work as needed
Ensure proper use of hand and power tools
Apply problem-solving skills to overcome project challenges
Maintain safety standards on all job sites
Travel locally to project locations
Required Qualifications
5+ years of carpentry experience
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of advanced carpentry techniques
Project management and team leadership experience
Familiarity with safety standards
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
